Microsoft has announced a new entry-level wired Xbox headset, priced at $59.99/£54.99 and described as a “great entry-level headset” that includes features from their premium wireless headset.
The new wired Xbox headset is up for pre-order now on the official Xbox store, Amazon (Editor’s note: Affiliate link), and participating retailers, and launches on September 21.
The headset includes “ultra-soft large earcups”, onboard volume and mute controls, and even includes spatial sound technology support for things like Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos, and DTS Headphone:X.
It’s worth pointing out that the headset is compatible with Windows PCs, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S and just needs a 3.5mm port, so it even connects to your Xbox wireless controllers and uses their onboard battery.
“To generate the best possible experience across gaming, team chat, music, and movies, the team tuned the headset to replicate the intended audio recording source that the creators wanted you to experience,” said Jessica Tsujikawa, senior product marketing manager at Xbox.
In related news, Microsoft announced they’re bringing back the Xbox Design Lab, where you can order your own custom Xbox controller with colors and designs of your choosing – read more about that here.
