Employees from Eidos-Montreal (part of Embracer Group) have been laid off after a Deus Ex game was reportedly canceled.

In their statement, Eidos explained that 97 employees were being laid off from “development teams, administration, and support services”.

Eidos has been a part of Embracer Group since 2022 and is known for their work on games such as Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Thief, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and more.

These layoffs come only a week after Microsoft announced massive layoffs in their game division.
