Linda Yaccarino, formerly the chairman of global advertising and partnerships at NBCUniversal, has just been named as Twitter’s new CEO by Elon Musk.
A previous announcement announcing the change was made less than a day ago, and left people wondering who this figure would be:
Excited to announce that I’ve hired a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will be starting in ~6 weeks!
My role will transition to being exec chair & CTO, overseeing product, software & sysops.
Now former Twitter CEO Elon Musk has stated the following:
I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!
@LindaYacc
will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology.Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app.
Twitter’s new CEO hasn’t announced any changes for the platform, or made any announcements on her Twitter page.
Twitter users aren’t pleased with this change, and worry that Yaccarino’s position in the World Economic Forum, which Elon has criticized previously, will bring poor management to the platform.
