Ladies and Gentlemen, we are on the road to Wrestlemania XXXIX (WrestleMania 39). Before the big Pay-Per-View in April, the WWE has one more pay-per-view before the big event. WWE’s Elimination Chamber 2023 PPV takes place tonight, February 18th, 2023 at 8 PM; the pre-show will start at 7 PM. With only five matches announced, we could expect that a match or two will take place during the pre-show. So, with the road to Wrestlemania passing through Canada, what could we expect and why is it important to gaming? The outcome of Elimination Chamber 2023 will determine some of the matches at Wrestlemania XXXIX. In order to potentially predict the outcome of Elimination Chamber 2023, we simulated the announced matches in WWE 2K22.

Elimination Chamber 2023 Card

At the moment, only five matches have been announced for Elimination Chamber 2023. Below are the five matches currently on the card, the match type, and the stipulations of each match; these matches will not take place in this order exactly.

  • Match 1 – Austin Theory (c) vs. Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs. Johnny Gargano vs. Bronson Reed vs. Damian Priest vs. Montez Ford – Elimination Chamber match for the WWE United States Championship
  • Match 2 – Asuka vs. Liv Morgan vs. Nikki Cross vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Natalya vs. Carmella – Elimination Chamber match for a WWE Raw Women’s Championship match at Wrestlemania XXXIX (WrestleMania 39).
  • Match 3 – Roman Reigns (c) (with Paul Heyman) vs. Sami Zayn – Singles match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship
  • Match 4 – Edge and Beth Phoenix vs. The Judgment Day (Finn Bálor and Rhea Ripley) (with Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio) – Mixed tag team match
  • Match 5 – Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar – Singles match

Our expectations

Before going through the WWE 2K22 simulation, we had guesses as to who will win each of the respective matches. We will share with you the expectations and why.

  • Men’s US Elimination Chamber – We expect that Austin Theory will retain in order to set up a match against John Cena at Wrestlemania 39. Our second choice to win this match is Seth Rollins; Seth Rollins vs Austin Theory could be a good match but at the moment, it is rumored that Seth Rollins will face Logan Paul at Wrestlemania.
  • Women’s Elimination Chamber – At the moment, we expect that Asuka will win the Women’s elimination chamber match. Although Liv Morgan was within the final three of the Royal Rumble, her reign as WWE Smackdown women’s champion was poorly received and easily forgettable. Asuka has recently had a slight gimmick change and seems to be leading to a clash of former friends at Wrestlemania 39. Our second pick is Liv Morgan due to how much more screen time she has been getting and how much she has improved. A wild card could be Carmella due to the fact that she is the main heel in the Women’s Elimination Chamber and Bianca Belair is currently a face (Good).
  • With Edge and Beth Phoneix vs Judgment day, one of two things will happen. The first outcome is that Edge and Beth Phoneix will win by pinning Finn Balor; this outcome will set up a match between Finn and Edge at Wrestlemania to end the feud. Additionally, we could see Rhea Ripley pinning Beth Phoneix to continue her momentum toward her match against Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship.
  • For Bobby Lashley vs Brock Lesnar, this could be a 50-50 coin toss. At the moment, Lashley has had the upper hand when facing Lesnar in matches and eliminating him at the Royal Rumble. Last night on Smackdown, Bray Wyatt announced he would face the winner of this match. With it rumored that the Hurt Business may be reuniting, Lashley winning could lead to a faction vs faction match at Mania; however, Lesnar losing consistently is out of the ordinary and doesn’t help him set up a match for Mania. We could ultimately see a match at Mania of Lesnar vs Bray Wyatt vs Lashley. This match is a toss-up.
  • The final scheduled match of the evening is Sami Zayn vs Roman Reigns. This match is one where many would love to see Sami win in his hometown; Sadly, Reigns is currently scheduled to face Men’s Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes at Wrestlemania. Additionally, it is currently rumored that Sami Zayn will team with Kevin Owens to take on the Usos (Jimmy & Jey) at Wrestlemania. We’d love to see Sami beat Roman, but it would throw a massive wrench into the current plans. WWE could pull an audible but that would make things increasingly difficult. Who do you think will win at Elimination Chamber 2023?

Simulated Match Outcomes

In order to simulate the matches in WWE 2K22, we had to download a fan-created Bronson Reed. After simulating the matches in WWE 2K22, we got the following outcomes:

  • For the Men’s Elimination Chamber match, Austin Theory is the first one eliminated from the match. Montez Ford hits a 5-Star Frog Slash on Johnny Gargano to win the United States Championship.
  • For the Women’s Elimination Chamber, Liv Morgan hits her finisher against Asuka and pins her in the ring.
  • In Edge & Beth Vs Judgment Day, Edge and Beth win via Beth pinning Rhea after releasing a Torture Rack
  • In the Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley match, Lashley dominates a majority of the match. Brock is able to counter a Hurt Lock and hits an F5 before pinning Lashley for the win.
  • In Sami Zayn vs Roman Reigns – Roman Reigns forces Sami Zayn to tap out using the Guillotine Choke.

Below we will share with you the simulated matches.
