Electronic Arts has announced the establishment of new studio Ridgeline Games, who are focused on a new entry in the Battlefield universe.

The new developer is based in Kirkland, Washington and is helmed by Halo series co-creator Marcus Lehto. The studio is mostly comprised of industry veterans, and are focused on a “narrative campaign set in the Battlefield universe,” whatever that means.

For now, you can follow the new developer on their new social media accounts across TwitterFacebook and Instagram. The studio is naturally hiring for a number of positions – go check out their careers page.

“It is a great honor to have the opportunity to collaborate with DICE and Ripple Effect and lead the charge on expanding the narrative, storytelling and character development opportunities in the Battlefield series,” said Lehto, Game Director and head of Ridgeline Games.

Respawn founder and head of the Battlefield franchise Vince Zampella added, “We’re continuing to invest in the future of the franchise by bringing in new talent and perspectives. With Marcus and his team at Ridgeline Games joining the world-class global team we have already in place, Battlefield is in the strongest position to succeed.”
