Electronic Arts has announced they will be working on multiple projects relating to Marvel IPs.
The first is no surprise as it’s confirmed as the previously announced Iron Man game, which is being developed by their new studio, EA Motive. At the time, they had already teased this new announcement teased work on “several” projects.
Now it’s officially confirmed that Electronic Arts will be creating 3 projects in a deal with Marvel. The other 2 projects haven’t been confirmed yet, though there have been leaks that EA is working on a Black Panther title as well.
If this is true, then this means we are only truly unaware of what the third and final project will be. Of course, there is a large library of heroes among Marvel’s catalogue that EA will have access to, so hopefully it is one which can be enjoyed by many fans.
There have been many video games as of late based on Marvel properties, where it’s unlikely EA will be using those specific characters for their third game. Examples include titles like Spider-Man and his counterpart in Mile Morales, as well as the forthcoming Midnight Suns, which has been delayed numerous times, and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Electronic Arts also has experience with creating Star Wars titles, which is owned by Disney, who also own Marvel. So a partnership with the gaming giant is of little surprise. The first of their projects, Iron Man, is slated to launch sometime in 2023.
