A new story trailer for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree gives us some more insight into the upcoming DLC. In particular, we learn more about Miquella.

Miquella is an enigmatic figure, largely referenced in the storylines surrounding Malenia and Mohg. In particular, Miquella is one of the wisest of the Empyreans and created the Haligtree in the north in order to contest with the power of the Erdtree which could not cure his sister of the Scarlet Rot.

Seeing his potential, Mohg the Lord of Blood kidnapped Miquella who was in the midst of using the Haligtree to cleanse himself of his own curse of perpetual youth, however Miquella divested himself of flesh and now travels the Land of Shadow, which will feature heavily in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
