Elden Ring is verified to run on Steam Deck

Two very big things are launching tomorrow – and now we’ve learned Elden Ring is verified to run on Steam Deck, as both launch tomorrow.

While Elden Ring is verified to run on Steam Deck, this means publisher Bandai Namco and developer FromSoftware submitted the game to Valve’s internal team to verify how, if at all, the game runs on the new Steam Deck handheld gaming PC.

As covered in our previous report, a game being fully verified to run on Steam Deck means it works “great” on Steam Deck, right out of the box and requires no finagling or modifications for the game to work.

It’s also worth mentioning most of FromSoftware’s back catalog of Souls games are all fully verified to run on Steam Deck as well, the only question marks are Dark Souls Remastered, and Dark Souls II. Their other titles like Sekiro, Dark Souls III, and curiously the Dark Souls II DLC are all verified to run on Steam Deck natively.

Elden Ring is set to launch on February 25th, 2022 on Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. In case you missed it, you can find our thorough and spoiler-free review and video review for Elden Ring here.

Valve’s Steam Deck is available for pre-order in three flavors: $399 (64GB), $529 (256GB), and $649 (512GB), over on the Steam store, and is set to launch on February 25th.
