Elden Ring hits new milestone: 17.5 million copies shipped and sold

Elden Ring

Elden Ring’s success has been well noted ever since it launched. The game hit the 16.6 million milestone, only now the game sold another million or so copies.

The latest financial report by Bandai Namco has revealed the game has managed to reach 17.5 million as of September 30, 2022. This means the game sold roughly a million more copies in a month or so.

This news is par for the course of the popular game, which Bandai Namco have already stated plans on creating a franchise which will go “beyond games”.

This cross-media strategy only makes more and more sense as the game continues to bring about strong sales, topping out entire rival franchises, even.

Based on current financial forecasts by the company, they should be seeing increasing highs year-over-year, a lot of which can be attributed to Elden Ring. This is similar to the game’s effect on parent company Kadokawa Group, which saw operating profit increases of over 1100%.
