Japanese developer crim has announced a PlayStation 5 port for their El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron HD Remaster.
News of a PS5 port for El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron HD Remaster comes from creator Sawaki Takeyasu, who revealed the port during a livestream at Tokyo Game Show 2024.
“Now I’m going to say it for the first time, but it’s totally safe to say that I’m making a PS5 version of El Shaddai,” Takeyasu said to Denfamico Gamer.
The moderator was naturally surprised that such a reveal was announced live, and asked if it was ok to announce. The El Shaddai creator replied:
“I just thought of it and can say it now! I thought, ‘I just came up with the idea and can say it now!’,” Takeyasu said. “That’s the beauty of having the rights (to the IP).”
“I didn’t even hear about it in our rehearsal,” the moderator responded while both laughed.
The new HD remaster of the classic action-adventure game has been available for Windows PC (via Steam) and Nintendo Switch. Check out our review here!
El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron was originally released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 back in 2011, and later came to Windows PC.
