XSEED Games have announced the release date for Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair in North America.
The latest in the ongoing series of humans-versus-aliens series will be arriving on PlayStation 4 on December 8th.
XSEED Games have also confirmed the release date for Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space, for PS Vita. The game will also be launching on December 8th in North America.
A European release is coming via PQube, although a release date has not been confirmed for that region yet.

November 19, 2015 at 3:15 pmLooks like I finally might have a reason to buy a PS4
I really hope the giant robot controls the same way it did in Robot Alchemic Drive. That game was rad.

I hope they don’t touch the English voice acting, other than to include lines to account for new equipment. The VAs in 2025 were the absolute best.

November 19, 2015 at 5:50 pmThey get released on the same day? Interesting. I guess the strategy for Europe can be similar.

November 19, 2015 at 6:02 pmAgreed it is curious that they would release both games at the same time, especially considering the holidays. More than likely Xseed is counting on the diehard fans to double dip on a day one purchase, but the real question, is how many of them are there?

November 19, 2015 at 6:04 pmI’m one of those people, but it just seems strange to have them on the same day and having to decide which to play.

November 20, 2015 at 10:57 amThis is still just a remaster of EDF 2025 with some added enemies and vehicles and missions, right? Until now I haven’t wanted to have a PS4, but I do feel like I’m missing out a little bit due to mainly this game. Glad I played it on 360 so it’s not quite as big a loss.
