We’ve been covering Nippon Ichi Software’s Great Edo Blacksmith, but we haven’t really gotten a look at what the game looks like in motion, until now.
Featured above, a new trailer has been revealed by Nippon Ichi Software that showcases the game’s various gameplay segments, including the dungeon crawling/spelunking, the mining of raw materials, the crafting and refining processes, and, of course, the romancing of the game’s three ladies, Asaka, Yugiri, and Kiyohana.
The trailer is first narrated by Kiyohana, who gives a tour of the city of Niruya and other areas and characters. One of the key things she puts a focus on are the various landmarks throughout the city that you’ll be able to visit. One thing to pay attention to is the small counter that is … counting down to the day the protagonist dies! In our previous reports, we’ve talked about how the protagonist, Sotsukasa, is plagued with a terminal illness.
The goal of the game is to help the protagonist earn riches via mining and crafting the best equipment out there, only to use all of his earnings on the women that can give him comforts. If you’re still watching the trailer, you’ll notice that it’s not the protagonist (because of his health) exploring and mining the dungeons, it’s cute girls, who Kiyohana says are mostly what you should expect when hiring miners.
She also says to not make her jealous by hiring them too often.
After you’ve gotten enough raw materials to craft equipment like swords, armor, and accessories, you’ll naturally have to transport them into town so that you can sell them. While in town, you can speak with your helpers and get advice, concerns, or just completely random things from them like how Kiyohana got jealous again, by saying she’d do something for free (when you’d have to pay Kiyohana for it).
There’s naturally a mini-game in which you can gamble your hard-earned cash by rolling dice. Should you make enough money to spend on the girls and you keep at it by visiting them often, you’ll eventually be able to get really close and personal with them and engage in arousing mini-games, like what you’ll see at the 4:30 mark of the video.
Great Edo Blacksmith is coming to Japan on November 27th for PlayStation Vita.
