Besiege is a “physics-based siege engine creator”, which tasks players with creating their own siege engine, using it to annihilate whatever they find in their path, and transporting resources, all with the ultimate goal of conquering all the kingdoms. In order to do this, players must defend their destructive creation from “cannons, archers and whatever else the desperate enemies have at their disposal.”
The developers claim players are able to make whatever siege machine they like—even flying ones—provided that the physics behind its construction hold up. There are a “broad array of building blocks [from which] to construct towering, ridiculous machines” or players can opt to “go for ruthless efficiency”.
The campaign will be “puzzle-centric”, and will have “fully destructible/flammable environments, with outposts, castles, farms and livestock”.
Besiege is still in alpha, as you can probably tell from the promotional material in this article, but we’ll let you know when it’s ready for Windows PCs. In the meantime, check out more screenshots from Early Access players to get an idea of what’s possible.
