EA: Don’t Expect New Dragon Age Game Until 2022 At the Earliest

During Electronic Arts Q2 2020 Earnings Call, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen revealed a new Dragon Age game was unlikely to come out before 2022.

While EA confirmed a new Dragon Age game back in December 2018 (which some have speculated is Dragon Age 4), we have heard very little news since; other than the game’s lead producer Fernando Melo resigning in August 2019.

During EA’s Q2 2020 Earnings Call, when one investor asked about Bioware and Star Wars based IPs, Jorgensen informed him that a new Dragon Age game was not coming any time soon.

“Yes. I mean you should assume that there is Dragon Age out there and we’ve talked about it publicly that it’s in the works, and it probably comes after fiscal ’22. But we typically don’t give multi-year guidance this early in the year or multi-year guidance period. So I don’t want to start giving ’23 guidance now that I’ve started to hit on ’22. But you should assume that it’s out there and plans are under way for that product as well as some other products.”

We will keep you informed if we learn anything before then.
