After our original report for the Microsoft sponsored excavation for the infamous E.T. landfill in Alamogordo, New Mexico, we’ve learned that it was all true.
Reports have come in saying that apparently “hundreds” of cartidges have been dug up already, many of them seemingly intact and even with the original shipping packaging. Although the urban legends easily got blown out of proportion, I wouldn’t be surprised if thousands were dug up.
The ultimate irony here is that these copies of the notoriously bad game will probably go for a pretty penny on Ebay, when they were literally unsellable three decades ago.
