Koei Tecmo has announced (via Famitsu) the launch date for the new online and local split-screen update for Dynasty Warriors 9.
The new update will be added to the game on October 23rd, finally adding online multiplayer and local split-screen cooperative play. Players are restricted in terms of how far they can go in the new co-op mode, but you can still act independently and go wherever you choose. Cross-platform play is not supported, however you can play with friends and even total strangers.
There’s a Free Co-op and Demo Version of the game planned, set for a release on November 1st. This new demo version will let you take part in online co-op with friends, as well as pick from and play through the opening segments of three warlords from the game’s cast of playable characters (roughly one to four hours of play).
Lastly, Koei Tecmo is also planning to release more downloadable content for Dynasty Warriors 9 for the next six months, beginning in November.
Dynasty Warriors 9 is available now for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
