Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment shared the first trailer for Dune: Part Three, giving us the first look at the final entry in Denis Villeneuve’s film series based on Frank Herbert’s epic novels.
The new trailer gives a look at protagonist Paul Atreides (played by Timothée Chalamet), his love interest Chani (Zendaya), alongside more returning actors like Javier Bardem, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Isaach De Bankolé, Charlotte Rampling, Anya Taylor-Joy, as well as newcomers Robert Pattinson, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke.
While the title of the third modern Dune film follows the boring naming convention seen in other franchises like John Wick, it’s based on the second novel in Herbert’s series – Dune Messiah. It follows the story of Paul after he defeats the Harkonnens and becomes the Emperor, taking up the mantle of the Fremen’s messiah. The trailer also teases Paul’s politically-motivated marriage to Princess Irulan, which causes Chani to abandon their relationship.

Dune: Part Three premieres later this year on December 18th, only in theaters.
