Larian Studios have announced the Druid class will be coming to Early Access RPG Baldur’s Gate III in its next major patch.

As described during the Panel From Hell II livestream, Druids are magic-users who specialize in using the power of nature to (usually) ensure that nature and balance are kept in check. This grants them the ability to control the weather and plants, heal allies, talk to animals, or turn into an animal.

Druids also have Circles that act as specializations. The Circle of the Land emphasizes nature magic, while the Circle of the Moon focuses on the Wildshape spell. Druids are highly versatile, having access to weapon skills, light armor, and magic. They act like a combination of the Wizard and Cleric with access to over 30 spells.

The class will be available when Patch #4: Nature’s Power is launched. The Panel From Hell II also revealed the patch will add optional “loaded dice” to avoid extreme results in combat or skill checks for dialogue, enhanced cutscenes and new scenes when talking to the dead, being able to see an ally’s stats and gear in multiplayer, and quality of life improvements (thanks RPG Site!)
