Drakengard 3, one of many exclusive PS3 JRPGs we’ll be getting next year, just had two new commercials hit Square’s official youtube channel.
Though they are only ads, and Japanese at that, they do show off how incredibly gorgeous the game is and contain some new footage never before seen. Square has a lot riding on Drakengard 3, no doubt due to the slowly declining sales of Final Fantasy.
Square Enix also showed off a three minute “advertisement movie,” which you can see below:
Square Enix revealed the downloadable content schedule for the game’s Japanese release, which you can find below:
- December 19 – Color Variation Costume for Zero (This one is free)
- December 26 – Furiae and Nier Costumes
- Beginning of 2014 – Manah and Eris Costumes
- Afterward – Story DLC Different from the Main Scenario
Drakengard 3 is a prequel to the first game and will supposedly connect its spin-off game “Nier” to the main series. Beyond that, however, no other details have been made public. Worked on by “Deadly Premonition” creator Access Games, Square hopes to avoid the criticisms of “clumsy” combat by having the acclaimed developer take over this third installment.
Drakengard 3 is set for release exclusively on Playstation 3 the coming 19th of December in Japan, and sometime next year for North America and Europe.
