Dragon Quest XI S Japanese Voice Actor Cast Revealed

The voice actors and actresses for some of the characters in Dragon Quest XI S have been revealed.

While the original game had voice acting in the west, this would be the first time the Dragon Quest series has had voice acting in Japan.

The news comes via GamesTalk and the official Dragon Quest XI S website. The list so far includes, along with three new characters – Gemma, Mia, and Vince:

  • Erik: Kouki Uchiyama
  • Veronica: Maaya Uchida
  • Serena: Sora Amamiya
  • Jade: Ami Koshimizu
  • Rab: Mugihito
  • Sylvando: Masaya Onosaka
  • Gemma: Ayako Kawasumi
  • Mia: Inori Minase
  • Vince: Tomokazu Sugita
  • Jasper: Takahiro Sakurai
  • Hendrik: Rikiya Koyama

The official website also has a section in which you partake in O-mikuji. O-mikuji is where you can draw a fortune in exchange for an offering at Shinto or Buddhist temples in Japan.

On the website you can enter your name (in Japanese) and you will get a fortune based on it. Some fortunes will even have characters chime in and comment on your fortune. Entering Dai-kichi (Great blessing) will not get you the greatest fortune unlike the real deal. However, Dai-kichi S will.

You can find screenshots of the new characters below. You may recognize that Mia is also appearing in an in-development Dragon Quest Monsters game along with Erik. [Editor’s Note: Originally these images had a clear background, but we have added in the background from the O-mikuji page to them]

Dragon Quest XI S will be coming to Nintendo Switch in 2019 in Japan. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is now available for Windows PC and PlayStation 4. In case you missed it, you can find our extremely thorough review for the game here (we absolutely loved it!).
