Dragon Quest XI Officially Confirmed for Nintendo Switch

After being announced as a possibility over a year ago, Nintendo has officially confirmed that Dragon Quest XI is in development for the Nintendo Switch.

In a blog post on Nintendo’s Japanese blog, the manufacturer revealed that Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time will be coming to the Nintendo Switch along with the previously announced PS4 and 3DS versions.

It’s currently unknown if the Switch version will be based off the PS4 version, which is fully 3D using Unreal Engine 4, the 3DS version, which offers a mix of 3D and 2D styles, or its own unique variation.

For all of the new info on the upcoming RPG revealed at Jump Festa, be sure to check here. More Dragon Quest XI info for Switch will most likely be revealed either during the series’ 30th Anniversary Program on December 29th, or during the Switch’s official reveal January 13th.

Nintendo finally started to announce the games for the system. I wish they’d just lift the silly NDA from the devs, so they can do their own marketing.

This will be the version to get. Playing VII right now and I can’t imagine playing another DQ game on anything that won’t let me grind while I’m taking a shit.

Just put a tv and console in your bathroom wall and then you can grind everything while shitting. Also, where’s this grinding? was it in the games before 8?

Well I’ve been grinding for 20 hours and I just realized upon opening vocations I screwed myself because it won’t let me level up my vocations if I beat enemies weaker than my level.

I played it like older DQ games to my detriment.

But ALSO the pop up enemies also make it really freaking hard not to overlevel. It’s worse than random encounters by far.

I honestly expect the dumbasses from 8-4 to butcher all versions.

Uh, when did they ever officially confirm it? The only “confirmation” so far is an anonymous ‘leak’ from Venturebeat.

Not that it isn’t possible, but people are jumping all over it just like they have every other rumor surrounding NX/Switch.

DQs current burden is Schloc LTD/Oli Chnace (had to watch the credits since everyone refuses to answer my question of who did it).

Ha it’s comments like this why this site is still better than any of the other game media out there, even despite the change of TOS.
