We’ve learned (via Otakomu) the true nature of the extra scenarios coming with the newly revealed 3DS port for Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, in this month’s issue of V-Jump.

The new story bits coming with the game were not included in the Playstation 2 original, and they include the “Dhoulmagus’ Past” and “The Hero’s Childhood” scenarios. You can find images of both, below:

The screenshot of “Dhoulmagus’ Past” scenario shows Dholmagus’ saying pondering “Ahh, how can I learn proper magic..” The latter screenshot depicts the protagonist in a bed, with a woman (perhaps his mother?) by his side.

Dragon Quest VIII is heading to the Nintendo 3DS on August 27th in Japan
