Dragon Quest Tact worldwide version shutting down in 2024

Dragon Quest Tact

Publisher Square Enix and developer Aiming have announced they’re shutting down the worldwide version of Dragon Quest Tact next year.

The overseas version of Dragon Quest Tact is shutting down on February 29th at midnight. Square Enix did not mention a shutdown for the Japanese version, so it’s expected to keep running for now.

“We’ve come to the conclusion that it would be difficult to continue maintaining the app experience, therefore we are ending the app service,” Square Enix said in a statement.

While the smartphone spinoff launched back in 2020 for Japan, its worldwide version launched a bit later in January 2021. All in-game purchases for the western version have been suspended as well.
