Dragon Quest Monsters Super Light

Square Enix has announced they’re shutting down Dragon Quest Monsters Super Light, their long-running smartphone spinoff set in the popular RPG franchise.

Dragon Quest Monsters Super Light is shutting down on January 31st, 2024, for Japan, an entire decade since the game originally launched in the regions.

The free-to-play smartphone spinoff was originally released way back on January 23rd, 2014 in Japan for iOS (via the App Store) and Android (via Google Play). Since its release, the game has been downloaded over 30 million times on both platforms.

Premium in-game currency sales for gems have been suspended as of this announcement, and remaining gems can be used until the shut down. Remaining gems will be eligible for a refund, but details are coming later.
