Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake details new “Seabed” content

Publisher Square Enix and developer Artdink shared new details for Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake showing off its new underwater content in the HD remaster of the original two games.

The ocean depths offer a new stage for adventure! Explore every corner of this uncharted ocean world!

DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake has received various enhancements, and it has been revealed that you can now explore the ocean depths in DQ II! A wider world awaits, full of new encounters!

As you progress through the story of DQ II, you will be able to travel by ship not only on the ocean’s surface but also underwater!

The merfolk live quietly under the ocean’s surface. In addition to Mersea, the town where they live, dangerous dungeons can also be found.

Save the mermaids from monsters threatening peace in the ocean!

During their adventure, the main character and his comrades encounter two mermaids and learn that the ocean depths are under attack by Hargon’s minions. Protect the mermaids from the evil forces lurking beneath the ocean’s surface and restore peace to the sea!

The protagonists encounter a pair of mermaids after a certain incident. Their encounter with the mermaids brings various developments to the story.

It seems that the town where the mermaids live and the Mermaids’ Sanctuary are also under threat from monsters.

There are sunken ships and places that look like hideouts in the depths of the ocean. Explore every corner of the vast submerged world.

Defeat a new powerful enemy you encounter under the sea!

Mariella, one of Hargon’s Champions, emerges as a formidable enemy threatening the peace of the seas! She stands before the protagonists, aiming to conquer the underwater world!

Explore the further uncharted Seabed

As the story progresses, you’ll be able to dive even deeper to the Seabed! What could possibly be waiting there…?!

Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake is set to launch on October 30th for Windows PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, PS4, and PS5.
