Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Dimps have announced asymmetric online multiplayer survival game Dragon Ball: The Breakers.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers launches 2022 on Windows PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game will also be playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S via backwards compatibility. There will also be a closed beta on PC.

As stated in the press release (via email) this 7 versus 1 game features normal people being pulled into the Temporal Seam, then pursued by the “Raider” who gathers power. The latter can take on forms of iconic Dragon Ball villains who have devastated cities and entire planets before; such as Cell, Frieza, and Buu.

The survivors aren’t trained fighters or super-powered beings like other characters in Dragon Ball (barring some transformation skills like Oolong’s). They must rely on power-ups, weapons, and vehicles to hold off and evade the Raider until they find the Super Time Machine to escape.

Along with the Raider having unique abilities based on his form, he can also devastate large parts of the map; giving players less places to hide and flee to.

Players will be able to customize their Survivor via earned in-game credits, or optional in-game purchases. The game will also link to save data of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.

Resist, Escape, Survive
