Bandai Namco has released details for their “World Tour” Dragon Ball FighterZ tournament running from June 2018 to January 2019.
The tournament will feature “Saga Events” in seven nations across the world with the first taking place in America at the CEO Fighting Game Championships. The matches there will run through June 29th to July 1st, streamed exclusively on Twitch.
Things are not so simple however. The official website states the seven tournaments are to “win” one of the eponymous dragon balls. A player with more dragon balls (tournament wins) gets a higher seed in the grand final. In the show, getting all seven granted you a wish. In this tournament:
“However, should a single player win all 7 Saga Events and obtain all 7 Dragon Balls, the format of the Finals will fundamentally change. The player possessing all 7 Dragon Balls will obtain a bye to Grand Finals, guaranteeing at minimum 2nd place.”
