Bandai Namco Entertainment and developer Arc System Works have announced the Dragon Ball FighterZ Show, detailing their competition roadmap and revealing a new trailer.
EVO Online was cancelled due to multiple allegations of sexual harassment and abuse made against co-founder and CEO Joey “MrWizard” Cuellar and other prominent members of the fighting game community. Cuellar, Nairoby “Nairo” Quezada, and Richard “Keitaro” King later confessed the allegations were true.
While Bandai Namco Entertainment pulled their support for the tournament when the allegations came to light, it is likely the reveal of this new trailer would have come during the event. The announcement of their competitions (including new ones) is also likely a result of Evo Online’s cancellation.
The livestream will reveal all of the developer’s “plans for 2020: competitions, game updates … as well as an exclusive trailer.” The ominous teasing of the trailer may indicate it is the next character appearing in the FighterZ Pass 3 season pass. Other characters in the pass include Ultra Instinct Goku and Kefla.
There is also a chance this new trailer may reveal the game is coming to next generation systems, and possibly via the free upgrade system both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X have offered. However, both of the above are speculation.
The Dragon Ball FighterZ Show premieres August 16th at 11:00 a.m. PDT on Twitch.
