Doraemon and Macross voice actress Noriko Ohara dies

Noriko Ohara, a veteran voice actress who is famous as Nobita Nobi’s voice actor from Doraemon and Claudia LaSalle from Macross, has died this month.

Noriko Ohara has passed away at the age of 88 back on July 12th due to an untreatable illness, her agency 81 Produce recently reported this week.

“Our actor, Noriko Obara (real name: Noriko Tobe) passed away on July 12, 2024, at the age of 88, while under medical treatment for an illness for which medication had no effect,” her agency said. ”In accordance with the wishes of the bereaved family, the funeral service was conducted by relatives only. We would like to express our deepest gratitude for your kindness during his life and respectfully inform you of his passing.”

As mentioned by her agency, a private funeral was held with only her relatives attending.

Numerous voice actors, some veterans themselves who had worked with Ohara, have also expressed mourning and gratitude to the voice actress.

Ohara was born on October 2nd in Tokyo. In addition to Doraemon’s Nobita Nobi and Claudia Lasalle from Macross, she has voiced many other characters including Doronjo in Yatterman, Peter in Heidi, Girl of the Alps, Oyuki in the original Urusei Yatsura anime in 1981, and Conan in Future Boy Conan.
