Blizzard has finally, officially confirmed Doomfist as the next playable character in Overwatch.
The offense-focused hero will bring to the game his various skills and abilities, including a Hand Cannon and a Rocket Punch, to name a few. Featured above, you can find his introduction trailer.
Here’s a brief rundown on the character, via Blizzard:
Doomfist’s cybernetics make him a highly-mobile, powerful frontline fighter. In addition to dealing ranged damage with his Hand Cannon, Doomfist can slam the ground, knock enemies into the air and off balance, or charge into the fray with his Rocket Punch. When facing a tightly packed group, Doomfist leaps out of view, then crashes down to earth with a spectacular Meteor Strike.
Doomfist is playable now on the game’s Public Test Realm, for PC – you can read about how to access that here. The PTR isn’t available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, so word on when Doomfist will be available across all three platforms.
Unfortunately, it seems like fan-favorite Terry Crews won’t be voicing the iconic character – despite all the effort and support he’s gotten for the role.
