While it may not be niche, DOOM is a game we have covered extensively, mainly due to its impact on geek culture and the hardcore gaming hobby in general. Whether played on toasters, on an oscilloscope or nostalgically revisited by its level designer, DOOM elicits fond feelings of remembrance in those of us who were old enough to have played it back in the ’90s.

The producers of the television show Mythbusters must feel the same way, since the Bethesda blog has just revealed that an upcoming episode will tackle “myths” surrounding DOOM.

Scheduled to air January 31st, the episode will finally solve the riddle as to how a fully armored marine can carry half a dozen weapons and yet still run full speed through radioactive sludge. Or perhaps just give Adam Savage an excuse to destroy things with a chainsaw.
