Dokyusei: Bangin’ Summer – Home Edition gets surprise western console ports

Dokyusei: Bangin' Summer

Co-publishers DMM Games and EXNOA have released surprise western console ports for Dokyusei: Bangin’ Summer – Home Edition.

Dokyusei: Bangin’ Summer – Home Edition is now available globally on Switch (via the eShop) and PS4 (via the PlayStation Store). A playable demo on both platforms is also available.

Originally released as a remake of the classic visual novel Doukyuusei, Dokyusei: Bangin’ Summer was first launched in Japan for PC (via many platforms) in 2021 and later got a global PC release in 2022 (via Steam) by publisher Shiravune. The Switch and PS4 console ports were released in Japan back in 2024.

Here’s a rundown on the game:

It’s the ’90s. Summer’s back! Dōkyūsei: Bangin’ Summer brings the heat—a Japanese adventure classic, all decked out in HD graphics.

With mere months left before graduation, one young man has got a plan. He’s spent the first half of his summer making bank, and now he’s out to break it—and break some hearts in the bargain!

But over the course of just three weeks, you’ll come to love and understand these girls and pick one to be with in this comedic coming-of-age drama.

Dōkyūsei is a seminal classic of the dating sim genre that first blew Japan’s mind in 1992.
This updated remake adds HD art, optional modern features, and for the first time ever, a global release.

Features

  • Classic dating sim gameplay
  • Modern quality-of-life features
