Doki-Doki Universe is Finally Coming Next Week

doki-doki universe ss 1

The wait for Toejam and Earl creator Greg Johnson’s upcoming game, Doki-Doki Universe is almost over. Greg is head of HumaNature Studios, the team that is working on the simple looking yet apparently thought provoking game.

Doki-Doki Universe has you playing as a robot named QT3, a robot who was deemed inefficient and therefore needing to be scrapped. What is he lacking exactly? Well, his humanity, actually. The events within the game take you across multiple worlds and planets, helping people and learning what it means to be human.

The game is meant to get players to learn something about themselves by playing across a myriad of concepts like role playing elements, adventuring, personality quizzes, and of course – humor. Doki-Doki Universe is meant to be fun, and yet thought provoking. HumaNature Studios gave us a brief tease at the game with the planet Brrr, where QT3 has to help a young snowman named Junior, who is ashamed that he just can’t stand the cold, and frequently gets sick. You have to help Junior and his father resolve their problems by gathering items and getting them to talk to one another.

The game will launch next Tuesday across Playstation 3, Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita, and it will retail at $14.99. Doki-Doki Universe will include the story mode, 31 personality quizzes, and the Doki-Doki Mail system. In case you’re not sold on the concept, you can also try the game out for free with the starter pack, which includes 16 personality quizzes, QT3’s home planet, a tutorial planet, and the Doki-Doki Mail system.

Doki-Doki Universe is cross-buy supported, meaning if you buy it once on a particular Playstation platform, you’ll get it across all three.
