Indie developer Monothetic has announced Beacon, a new game for PC and Xbox One.

The roguelike sci-fi action game will put you in control of Freja, a pilot-for-hire who recently died in a crash landing on an unknown planet. Thanks be to new technology, Freja is cloned and brought back into the fray.

Featured above, you can view the game’s debut trailer. Players can expect a top-down, randomly generated world filled with hostiles.

Your goal is to rebuild your distress beacon and escape – along the way you can make use of new DNA, which you can combine into new mutations, each time you “inevitably” die.

A release date wasn’t confirmed for Beacon.
