If you weren’t able to keep a browser tab open on Twitch this weekend to catch Larian’s Divinity: Original Sin 2 gameplay broadcast and wanted to take the real first long look at the upcoming CRPG sequel’s deliciously tactical combat, you can now do so. Clocking in at a little over 13 minutes, the Swen-narrated video gives a run-down of the new game’s changes, such as the open-ended conversation system and the clever way the party can split up without being tethered to each other.

One interesting tidbit of info that is touched upon in the video is the idea of reputation and soul points. Since you are playing characters who use so-called “forbidden” magic, the more you use those banned spells the more bad karma you accrue. Though Swen was a bit silent about what happens when you get a low enough karma, he did mention that people may come after you.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is still early in development, but its added depth and complexity is already showing through even at this stage in its creation. To aid Larian in their quest in creating the CRPG sequel, you can donate to their already bursting-at-the-seams Kickstarter fund.
