Japanese developer Inti Creates has announced Divine Dynamo Flamefrit is a real game – their April Fool’s joke from earlier this year – and it’ll launch this year.
Divine Dynamo Flamefrit is set to launch sometime this winter across Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, PS4, and PS5.

A fantastical adventure of magic and armor awaits!
“Divine Dynamo Flamefrit” is a 2D action game inspired by classic games and anime. Play as the hero Yuto in top-down slashing adventure stages, and pilot the magical robot Flamefrit for first-person boss battles! Master both styles of gameplay to restore peace to the parallel world of Hologard!
A fantasy adventure refining the classics!
Yuto is a master of the sword and can unleash different attacks with a single button. Keep attacking for a 3-hit combo or charge a fiery spinning slash! On defense, Yuto can also roll to avoid enemy attacks, and even counter them with a well-timed attack.
Find and recruit allies to summon them in battle for powerful magic attacks or help with dangerous traps. Adventure through the magical realm of Hologard with your most trusted friends!
Fight bosses with your allies in free-flowing first person battles!
Boss battles change the point of view completely to a first-person vantage. Use the crosshairs to control Flamefrit and slash enemy magic out of the air, and slice and dice the foe when the they get near! Guard well to charge up Flamefrit’s power! Strike them down with the “Flame Saber!”
Call upon your friends in their Divine Dynamos for powerful one-time attacks as your trump cards. Each ally you recruit will increase your fighting strength, so find as many as you can along your journey!
