Disney and 21st Century Fox have announced a massive acquisition deal.

While Disney is acquiring a majority of 21st Century Fox’s assets at $52.4 billion in stocks, the real meat of the deal are the rights to various big franchises like X-Men, Avatar, The Simpsons, and more. Disney is also getting 30% stake in Hulu, raising their total stake in the company to 60%.

“We’re excited about this extraordinary opportunity to significantly increase our portfolio of well-loved franchises and branded content to greatly enhance our growing direct-to-consumer offerings,” Disney CEO Bob Iger said in a statement.

This acquisition further cements the Walt Disney Company as one of if not the biggest media corporation on the planet – which brings lots of concerns when it comes to monopoly-type scenarios. But hey – now you can get your X-Men stuff in your Marvel stuff, so I guess that’s totally cool and worth it.
