Codemasters have released some new details regarding the Career mode in their upcoming racer Dirt 5.
As stated in the press release (via Games Press) and on Steam, the Career mode follows players as they begin their journey from rookie racer to off-road superstar.
Early on in the story, players catch the attention of Alex Janiček, a veteran racer voiced by Troy Baker. Alex Janiček, better known as AJ, becomes a mentor figure, teaching you everything you need to know to dominate the competition.
AJ’s main rival is another seasoned racer named Bruno Durand. Voiced by Nolan North, Bruno plays a large role in the game’s story, becoming another obstacle in your way to the top. Throughout Career mode, the story’s various characters will react to the player’s accomplishments and choices.
Career mode is split into five chapters, covering around 130 races across nine different event types. Completing certain objectives will unlock Throwdowns, one-on-one races against big names in the off-road racing scene.
Throughout Career mode, players will be able to acquire sponsorships. There are 20 real-world brands featured in the game, and each offers unique rewards, livery, and decals players can decorate their cars with. As your reputation increases, more lucrative sponsorships will become available.
Finally, Career mode will feature split-screen co-op, allowing your friends to drop-in and drop-out by taking the place of AI racers. This allows players to unlock unique rewards, and your friends will gain bonuses they can transfer to their own Career mode.
