Now here’s an interesting character that is coming with the new Super Smash Bros. on both the 3DS and Wii U – Dillion the anthropomorphic armadillo from Dillion’s Rolling Western.

Before you start screaming out cries of joy and rejoice that Nintendo is adopting an extremely obscure characters for the new game’s roster – he’s only an assist trophy. His reveal comes after the Super Smash Bros. themed Nintendo Direct last month that revealed quite a few of the trophies.

The confirmation for Dillion comes with game director Masahiro Sakurai making a note that on the Miiverse that the team didn’t “introduce ALL of the Assist Trophies in the Smash Bros. Direct.”

I personally would have loved to see such an obscure character be confirmed for the roster, what about you guys? The 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. is coming this summer, while the Wii U version is arriving later this winter.
