Digimon Adventure from Toei Animation, is a reboot of the original 1999 Digimon Adventure series that takes place in the year 2020.

After 21 years the Digimon media franchise has gone through seven other anime series and over a dozen video games; 2020’s Digimon Adventure will be the first official reboot of a previous installment of the series.

The new Digimon Adventure follows Taichi and friends from the original 1999 anime, after they get stranded in the Digital World during summer camp.

All the characters from the 1999 anime will be the same age as they were originally, only the time the story takes place in is different. The new series is being directed by Masato Mitsuka.

Although originally announced for April 20th, the series premiered on April 5th. A new trading card game also released in Japan on April 1st.

Digimon Adventure began broadcasting on Fuji TV and is available to stream via Crunchyroll.
