Diablo IV will get new story content every 3 months

Diablo IV

It’s no secret Blizzard Entertainment is putting a ton into Diablo IV from its marketing to its gargantuan amount of planned content. The developer has confirmed they’ll release post-content aggressively, too.

Associate game director Joe Piepiora confirmed (via Game Informer) the game will get larger updates every quarter that contain things ranging from new story content to new mechanics, features, and more.

We previously reported on Diablo IV getting lots of content tied to its infamous Battle Pass – though new content will arrive in both free and paid tiers.

Piepiora noted the popularity of Diablo III’s constant seasonal updates as why they wanted live service-style content updates right from the get-go. Here’s a recent video teasing up the Diablo IV endgame:

It remains to be seen how much content will be in the base game’s endgame, but we do know that the game’s first seasonal content release won’t come at launch.

Diablo IV is set to launch on June 6th, 2023 across Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5.
