Diablo III is ending new seasonal content to put focus on Diablo IV

Diablo III

Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed the expected news – Diablo III is killing off new seasonal content to make room for Diablo IV when it launches.

Diablo IV game director Joe Shely and franchise general manager Rod Fergusson confirmed the news in a new Wowhead group interview on the state of the entire Diablo franchise.

“Starting with Season 30 previous Seasons will be repeated,” Fergusson said. He noted there will be “a mix and match of previous cosmetics and features that made up previous Seasons.”

The duo added that all future development efforts will be put into Diablo IV, as we know Blizzard touted the game will be supported by an “army” of developers.

The news that Diablo III is ending its new seasonal content is the end of an era, from its rocky beginnings way back in 2012 to its resurfacing as a solid co-op action RPG.

Diablo III has been available for Windows PC, Mac, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4. In case you missed it, you can find our thorough review of the game here (we highly recommend it!).
