With their most recent Kickstarter update, indie developer Pixel Titans has revealed that their retro shooter Strafe is now being published by Devolver Digital. Also having been announced via twitter, this is great news to fans of gory shooters with old school mechanics.

This publishing deal was apparently negotiated a couple months ago, with Pixel Titans excited to be able to finally reveal the news to their fans:

When we hit Kickstarter last year we had an ambitious goal for one more year of development. That had us working every waking second on STRAFE® at max strength, and the ambition for the game itself grew. When we started our campaign STRAFE® was early in development and we had yet to lock down the full scope and quality standard. Now we know what’s in the game and more importantly, what isn’t. We also are nearing the end of the art asset creation, which means we can soon start diving into secrets.

Devolver’s experience with delivering quality games was great for helping us lock down a realistic release window. We all want to avoid missing a release date and pushing back.

The full game is slated for an early 2017 release for Windows PC. Until then, you can bookmark Strafe’s Steam page and their official twitter account.
