Video game actor Reuben Langdon, mostly known for his legendary portrayal of Devil May Cry protagonist Dante, narrowly escaped an attempted shooting this past weekend.
Langdon recalled the series of events after the shooting, which happened while he was working on a documentary in Guatemala. The documentary, Vision of the Ages, is based on the native people.
On the evening of February 15th, both Langdon and associate Steve Copeland were in a vehicle when the assailant attempted to break in, and then began to open fire on their car.
At least six shots were fired at their vehicle, one of which got lodged in the back of Langdon’s seat:
Langdon posted the above photo with a caption only he and Dante himself could joke about, considering the circumstances:
“So glad I had my bulletproof coffee this morning!” Please never change, Reuben.
The authorities are considering the shooting a murder attempt, and the shooter is still at large.
While multiple theories are circulating and the search is still on for the shooter, Copeland said “we’ve already forgiven the gunman.”
He added, “Our work is to benefit him and others like him” and that “it’s all part of the prayer we’re carrying forward.”
