Capcom has registered a bunch of Devil May Cry related website domain names ahead of a potential reveal for a new game within the franchise.
First, the domain name DevilMayCry5.com was registered (via ResetEra) on May 17th under the Onamae domain registrar – if you’re going by the site domain Whois record. This is the same registrar Capcom uses for their other known titles like MonsterHunterWorld.com and ResidentEvil7.com.
The publisher also registered domains for Devil May Cry 6, Devil May Cry 8, and Devil May Cry 9, but it’s worth pointing out the seventh game domain is likely registered by a squatter who noticed the other domains being purchased and registered.
It’s worth pointing out that the Devil May Cry 5 web domain is hosted on a live server, meaning it’s actually being updated and worked on in the background.
Could a reveal be imminent? We might find out at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, which runs from June 12th to the 14th. A big rumor from last November pointed to the game being in development, and that it would be directed by series veteran Hideaki Itsuno.
We’ll keep you guys posted.
