Paradox Interactive has announced a new expansion for Crusader Kings II.
The new “Holy Fury” expansion is coming to Windows PC, Mac, and Linux sometime this year, for $19.99. Featured above, you can view the announcement trailer for the new expansion.
“One heart and one soul against the Christian name,” reads the press release. “So went the message from Estonia after the routing of the Teuton invaders at Umera. The fires of faith burn hot, as local gods come under attack from a universal church that offers a stark choice – God or the Sword?”
Here’s the first screenshots:
Fans will be able to take charge of a “body of righteous warriors” in the new expansion, leading your army on a Crusade for the faith, or defending yur lands against the unwashed heathens. Most interestingly, pagan rulers who reform instead of converting will be able to adopt Reformed Paganism.
Here’s a rundown on the game:
Christ may rule in Rome and Constantinople, but Northern Europe is still home to the old gods of war and the hearth. These faiths will collide in fierce combat as the Prince of Peace brings conversion by the sword, and Gods of Nature demand unnatural sacrifices as the price of their favor.
Holy Fury is the newest expansion to Crusader Kings II, the celebrated medieval role-playing grand strategy experience from the masters of strategy, Paradox Development Studio.
