We’ve learned Detective Pikachu 2 is still in development, news confirmed via a posting on developer Creatures Inc.’s hiring website.

A programmer on the original Detective Pikachu for Nintendo 3DS said he is in charge of programming the Detective Pikachu sequel within their Environment Development Office – where he is building the basis for future game production at the company.

“If you liken a project to cooking, it’s our job to create a pressure cooker to complete it in a short time and deliciously,” the programmer said. “By developing a mechanism, we will automate various mechanisms while considering the cost-effectiveness of how many people’s work will be shortened by how many hours, so the harder you work, the more efficient your work will be.”

News that Detective Pikachu 2 is still in development is certainly interesting considering the game was announced back in 2019 around when its live-action movie (pictured) was premiering worldwide.

We haven’t heard a peep regarding this sequel since – but stranger things have happened like that Pokemon Snap sequel.
