The newest Detective Conan movie, The Fist of Blue Sapphire, has broken multiple box office records in multiple countries.

The film has done so well that it’s in the top list of 50 top grossing movies in Japan alone.

The show’s been running since 1994 and is one of the longest ongoing anime series in existence still to this day.

Detective Conan has run for so long that Conan O Brien, the American late night TV host, laid out his case (as a joke obviously) that he and Detective Conan were one in the same. That segment can be seen here. It’s worth a watch for a quick laugh:
