Detective Conan movie announced for Golden Week 2023

Detective Conan

The 26th Detective Conan movie will premiere in Japanese theaters during Golden Week in 2023. Golden Week is a Japanese term referring to a cluster of holidays taking place at the end of April and early May, giving many citizens time off from work and school to pursue leisure activities like going to movie theaters.

At present all we’ve got is a short teaser trailer which shows off past scenes featuring Ai Haibara, a woman who subjected herself to the same age reducing drug as Conan in order to hide from the “Black Organization”, a ruthless criminal syndicate. You can check out the teaser here.

Detective Conan is one of Japan’s longest running anime franchises and spans over a thousand episodes since it premiered in 1996. The series follows the young teen detective Shinichi Kudou who was poisoned by the Black Organization for getting in the way of their crimes. However the drug they used to poison him was experimental and instead he became a young boy, now he lives as boy detective Conan Edogawa.
