NetEase Games, in cooperation with developer Bungie, has announced Destiny: Rising, a new smartphone spinoff set in the same universe as the shooter MMO.

Destiny: Rising is in development for both iOS and Android devices as a free-to-play release. Though a release date wasn’t announced, a closed beta is planned for November 1st. Sign up over on the game’s official site.

The new smartphone spinoff is being developed and published by NetEase Games with oversight from Bungie, who will also have approvals during development. The game will have both a first-person and a third-person mode, as well as support for controllers.
